Balconies

CGA have arrangements in place to ensure that balconies remain safe. If balconies do not stay in a good condition, there is a risk of falls from height resulting in serious injuries.

CGA will:

  • Inspect all balconies once a year.
  • Get a structural engineer to carry out an inspection every five years.
  • Check balconies that form part of the communal area of blocks of flats once a month as part of the routine block safety inspection.
  • Take immediate action to make balconies safe where a serious risk to life is identified and inform the tenants affected of the action taken.
  • Address urgent defects affecting safety within 20 days and complete non urgent work within 12 months.

Tenants are asked to inform CGA of any concerns or defects. Contact details can be found here.
