Chair's Blog - February 2025

As we step into Spring, I’m excited to share updates from our February Board meeting and look at what’s ahead for 2025.

Our recent Board Meeting was combined with a Strategy Day, where we reviewed the first year of our Corporate Plan and identified key priorities for Year 2, considering sector-wide risks, financial pressures, and CGA’s long-term strategic goals. Over the coming weeks, the Executive Team will develop proposals based on the Board’s direction, which will be presented at our next meeting in late March. These discussions will help shape our Budgets and resource planning for the 2025/26 financial year.

As part of our annual process, the Board reviewed and approved rent and service charge adjustments for 2025/26. You should have received individual notifications regarding this in recent weeks. We understand that any changes can be challenging, and I want to remind you that support is available. If you have any concerns about managing your rent, please reach out to our Tenancy Support Team on 0800 953 0213 (option 4).

Various other updates were provided during the meeting, including progress against the Older Person’s Accommodation Plan, achievements at Preston Vocational Centre, and positive results from our recent colleague engagement survey. The latter highlights the strides we are making towards our goal of making CGA a great place to work.

The Board also received updates on quarterly performance, including the latest Customer Insight Report, which helps us understand feedback received by you, satisfaction levels, and areas for improvement. We also reviewed the strong progress made towards the Service Transformation Strategy, which focuses on enhancing the way CGA deliver services, streamlining processes, and improving the overall experience for you.

We also approved the appointment of a new Board Member and agreed plans to recruit a new Tenant Board Member in the coming weeks.
