Community Gateway’s new extra-care scheme welcomes its first resident
We are delighted to have opened our second extra-care scheme in Preston: The Atrium.
The Atrium on Miller Road, Ribbleton, follows the success of The Courtyards in Ingol, offering independent living for the over 60s in a community setting. The team at The Atrium were delighted to welcome its first resident, Daphne, at the beginning of June! Daphne, who is a long standing CGA tenant, was involved in putting together the original business case for developing CGA’s Extra Care offer, so it was a pleasure to see her moving in.
The development comprises 61 beautiful self-contained apartments, a bistro, hair and beauty salon, communal lounge, and wellbeing and activity rooms. The development is surrounded by peaceful landscaped grounds for the enjoyment of residents, their visitors, and the public.
Residents can benefit from complete privacy and independence, with the reassurance of on-site 24-hour care and support if and when required.
Head of Housing, Fiona Fisher, commented: “We know that people want to continue to live independently and have their own space as they get older. The Atrium allows them to do just that, spacious, modern, safe and secure with opportunities to make friends and get more involved in activities if you want to.
“The Atrium is such a vibrant and welcoming building and it’s great to see people moving in and enjoying the fantastic facilities. I know they’ll love living here as much as the public will enjoy visiting to sample the bistro or the hair and beauty rooms.”
