
Lifts
If the building you live in is fitted with a passenger lift, to ensure your safety CGA will:
- Use a specialist contractor to carry out a formal inspection and test of the lift every six months. This is required to comply with health and safety law.
- Carry out a service of the lift every six months.
- Ensure that arrangements are in place in the event someone gets stuck in a lift.
If you have a stairlift, or other lift supplied as part of an adaptation to your home CGA will:
- Use a specialist contractor to carry out a formal inspection and test of the lift every year.
- Service the lift in line with the manufacturer’s recommendations (usually once a year).
